Bootle is stepping into a bold new chapter - and our Town of Culture 2028 bid is all about celebrating the people, places and stories that make this town unlike anywhere else.
Bootle has always had creativity at its core. It lives in our communities, our humour, our resilience, our history and the everyday culture that happens on streets, in local venues, in community groups and in the hearts of the people who call Bootle home.
Our bid aims to shine a national spotlight on all of that.
We want to show the UK what Bootle is really made of: heart, talent, heritage, ambition and community pride.
UK Town of Culture
The UK Town of Culture is a new national competition celebrating the creativity, spirit and stories of towns across the country. The winning town will deliver a year‑long programme of arts, events and community projects that showcase local talent and bring people together. It’s all about shining a spotlight on places that are full of history, character and pride, and giving communities the chance to show what makes their town truly special.
